Everyone thinks of summer and sprain as flower season, but just because of the temperature drops doesn’t mean your yard is duns for the year. 1. Balloon Flower

 

These blue bloomers also go by the name Chinese Bellflower, but the balloon moniker is right on the money. The buds will really puff up until they pop open, revealing the lovely bell-shaped flowers.

 

2. Snakeroot

Liable on where you live, this native wildflower can appear from late seasonal to early fall. “Bugbane” also purportedly repels annoying pests while still enticing butterflies.

Stick to the traditional fall color palette with the flame-like plants of celosia. The sun-loving annual doesn’t always produce plumes though. Other varieties, similar cockscomb, grow a crest of curved flowers.

5. Michaelmas Daisy
