Asha Bhosle, popularly known as Asha Tai, has sung more than 12 thousand songs in 20 languages so far. Asha Bhosle was born on 8 September 1933. He was fond of singing since childhood. Know some interesting things related to him on the occasion of his birthday.

* Asha Tai, born in Malika Sangli of Madhur Awaaz, started her singing journey in 1943 when she sang the first song in the Marathi film ‘Majha Baal’.

*By the way, when Asha Tai was just 9 years old, her father died, due to which she started singing and acting with her sister Lata Mangeshkar to support the family.

* Asha Tai started her singing journey from a young age and she has sung about sixteen thousand film and non-film songs in many languages.

* Asha Bhosle married Lata Mangeskar’s personal secretary first. When she became very famous, she kept her personal secretary Ganpatrao Bhosle, who looked after all her work. Asha Bhosle fell in love with Ganpatrao, but the family members were not ready for this wedding. So both of them decided to run away from home. At that time Asha Bhosle was 16 years old, while Ganpatrao was 31 years old.

* This marriage did not last long. Asha Bhosle had told in an interview that Ganpatrao’s family did not accept him. There was an attempt to beat him. Finally, Ganpatrao expelled Asha Bhosle one day. She was pregnant at that time. After being expelled from her in-laws, she returned to her maternal home with her two children Hemant and Varsha.

* Composer O. P. Nayyar first recognized the art of Asha Bhosle and gave him an opportunity to sing in the 1953 film CID. But in 1956, Asha Tai got recognized with the film Naya Daur.

* Ashaji O. P. Nayyar, Khayyam, Ravi, Sachin Dev Burman, Rahul Dev Burman, Illia Raja, A.K. R. Rahman, Jaidev, Shankar-Jaikishan, Anu Malik, Madan Mohan have also given their voice for famous musicians.

* Asha Bhosle was continuously singing songs for Pancham (RD Burman). After listening to the songs of both, it seemed that the music of Pancham and the melodious voice of Asha were made for each other. Pancham married Asha Bhosle in the year 1980. The journey of Pancham and Asha’s musical love story could not last long and after 14 years of marriage, Pancham da left Asha Bhosle and left this world at the age of 54.

* Asha Bhosle has also been awarded 7 times Filmfare Award, 2 National Award, Padma Vibhushan and Dada Saheb Phalke Award.

* Asha Bhosle is the first Indian singer to be nominated for a Grammy Award. Ashaji was nominated for the first time in the year 1997. In the year 2005, Asha Tai again got a nomination in the Grammy.
