Feroz Khan is named among the most stylish actors of Hindi cinema. He was not only called the cowboy of Bollywood, but he was also the first Khan star of cinema in whose name films were sold as soon as it was announced. Feroz Khan, a prolific actor, director and producer, was born on 25 September 1939 in a Pathan family migrating from Afghanistan to Bangalore in the then Bangalore. His family was from Ghazni, Afghanistan and his mother was Irani.

  1. Bahurani (1963)

Character – Vikram

 

Firoz Khan got the lead role in this film after four years of Vikram making his debut with the film Didi in 1959. The film, directed by T. Prakash Rao, is a remake of the Telugu film Ardhangi. The film also stars Mala Sinha and Guru Dutt along with Feroze. The film is the story of a family in which a zamindar has two sons, Raghu (Gurudutt) from the first wife and Vikram (Feroze) from the second. Vikram always threatens Raghu, but everything improves after Raghu’s marriage. On the same story, the film was also made in 1992 in the film Anil Kapoor’s son.

 

2. Unchain log (1965)

Character – Rajinikanth

 

For the first time in this film Feroz Khan worked with two big actors. His acting was also praised among the best actors like Raj Kumar and Ashok Kumar. It proved to be a superhit film for Feroze Khan’s film career. In this film directed by Phani Majumdar, Ashok Kumar became a retired major, while Raj Kumar and Feroz Khan were his children. A retired blind major goes out to marry his sons, there is a lot of drama in the middle of this story. The film was also honored at the 13th National Film Awards.

 

3. Raat Aur Din (1967)

This film was the last film of Nargis Dutt, the mother of famous actress and Sanjay Dutt and she was the main character in this film. In this film, Feroz Khan and Pradeep Kumar were seen in supporting roles with him. This film, which came out in 1967, is a film based on multiple identity disorder. Nargis plays a dual character in the film. Pradeep Kumar is playing Nargis’s husband while Feroz Khan plays his friend. The film received a very good response, along with appreciation of Nargis Dutt’s performance and Feroz Khan was also well liked in his character.

 

4. Aadmi Aur Insaan (1969)

BR Chopra This film is directed by his brother Yash Chopra. The film stars Dharmendra and Saira Banu with Feroz Khan. In the film, Feroz is playing the role of a rich man, while Dharmendra is a common man. Feroz Khan’s character hires him in his company after reading the character of Dharmendra. Eventually a misunderstanding between the two arises in the affair of a girl, on which the story is based. Feroz Khan won the Filmfare for Best Supporting Actor for this film.

This film, Feroz Khan stepped into both the direction and production of the film for the first time and simultaneously acted in the film. Mumtaz also appeared in an important role with her in the film. While Mumtaz is playing the role of a thief, Ram lives as a racer, both in Germany. Both fall in love at first sight. Both of them leave their work and come to India to fulfill their love. But his past yesterday proves wrong for him. This is the first Indian film to feature racing.

 

6. Khote Sikke (1974)

Character – Dilbar

 

Said to have got the inspiration of Salim Javed from the film Khote Sikke directed by Narendra Bedi. In the film, a village is disturbed by bandits. A village man brings his brother and his five friends to protect the village. These five people are the original khote sikke of the film, who work their poor bread by doing strange work. In the film, Feroz is playing the character of Dilbar, who wants to kill the chieftain of the dacoits. Then he, along with the same five people, annihilates the bandits. The film featured Danny Denzongpa, Rehana Sultana, Ranjith, Narendra Nath and many other actors alongside Feroze. The film proved to be a blockbuster film of its time.

 

7. Dharmatma (1975)

Feroz Khan This is the first Indian film produced and directed in Afghanistan. This film, largely based on the Hollywood film The Godfather, brought Feroze Khan to such career heights that he might have thought in his dreams. The film stars Hema Malini, Rekha, Premnath, Imtiaz Khan, Danny Denzongpa, Farida Jalal, Ranjit along with Feroz Khan. The film proved to be a superhit film.

 

8. Naagin (1976)

Character – Raj

 

Block Buster The hit film Naagin was produced and directed by Rajkumar Kohli. The film is one of the first multistarrer films. The film is said to have been made from an inspiration from the French film The Bride for Black. Along with Feroz Khan in the film, Sunil Dutt, Reena Roy, Jeetendra, Sanjay Khan, Vinod Mahara, Rekha and many other actors were in supporting roles. The film, which is called the foundation stone of supernatural films, proved to be a superhit. The film was followed by several remakes in different languages.

 

9. Qurbani (1980)

Character – Rajesh

 

The most expensive films of its time, the film is based on an Italian film The Master Touch. Directed by Feroz Khan, the film also stars Vinod Khanna, Zeenat Aman, Amjad Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Aruna Irani, Amrish Puri and Kader Khan. The song of this blockbuster film Aap Jaisa Kauai is still heard with great fervor.

 

10. Jambaz (1986)

Character – Rajesh

 

The film was also made under the banner of Feroz Khan’s production house FK Productions, which he also directed himself. Anil Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia appeared in pivotal roles alongside Feroze in the film. Anil and Feroze are brothers. Feroze is a policeman while Anil is a bastard. Both stand at such a point, where Feroze is asked to capture Anil. The film is based on Hollywood’s Dual in the Sun film. It is said that Subhash Ghai got the inspiration of Ram Lakhan from here.
