The three essential elements of the body comprise Vata, Pitta, and Kapha and they all control and regulate the metabolic processes of catabolic as well as anabolic. Vata is composed up of Air & Space. Pitta – Fire + water. Kapha – Earth + Water.

The primary purpose that the 3 doshas serve is carrying the waste products of digestion throughout the body. This assists in building the tissues in the body. Any imbalance in these doshas can create illness.

Dhatu (Structure of the Body) – 7 Dhatus

Dhatu could be described as one that is a support system for your human body (Structure). There are seven tissues within the body.

They are Rasa, Rakta, Mamsa, Meda, Asthi, Majja and Shukra which are the blood, plasma muscle bone, fat tissue semen, and bone marrow. Dhatus give stability to the body. The primary goal of Ayurveda is to help nourish and protect the structural components of the body.

Mala (waste material from the body)

Mala is a term used to describe the word “waste” in its simplest sense. It is the third of the three-part body i.e. doshas and Dhatu. There are three kinds of malas e.g. sweat, urine, and stool. Malas are mostly the waste products from the body. Therefore, their removal of the body is vital for maintaining the well-being of an individual.

Agni (Digestive Fire)

Agni is the diverse enzymes found in the alimentary canal, liver , and the tissues cells. Charaka (One one of the most renowned Ayurveda Doctors in Ancient Times) says “Kayo Agnihi”.

This means that the Agni is everywhere on the body. Although the Jataragni is part of their Kosta (Alimentary System), the reflection of Agni is everywhere in the human Body.
