The holy festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated every year on the Chaturthi date of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. It is believed that on this day the first revered Lord Ganesha was born, hence on this day devotees worship Lord Ganesha with full devotion. By taking Bappa’s blessings with complete rituals for 10 days, one gets relief from the troubles of life. Some devotees keep Bappa at their home for full 10 days while some bring Bappa for one and a half days, three days, five days, 9 days or 11 days. According to beliefs, as soon as Bappa comes home, he takes away all the troubles of the devotees and fills the house with happiness and positive energy. Clean the place

First of all, clean the place in the house where you are going to keep Bappa’s idol thoroughly. If you want, you can also decorate that place well.

While buying the idol of Bappa, keep in mind that the trunk of Lord Ganesha should be on the right side, such a trunk gives auspicious results. According to beliefs, keeping Ganapati with such a trunk in the house brings happiness and prosperity.

welcome by blowing conch

Whenever you bring Bappa home, welcome him by blowing the conch. Shankhanad is considered very auspicious. After blowing the conch, sprinkle Ganga water on the place where Bappa is to be seated and then spread a red cloth on the post to seat Ganesh ji. Now dip Durva and betel leaves in Ganga water and bathe Bappa.

Yellow color is very dear to Lord Ganesha. Therefore, after enshrining Bappa, dress him in yellow clothes. Then chant the mantra Om Gan Ganpataye Namah 21 times.

Keep the kalash together

Here you have placed the idol of Bappa, after that fill water in a silver, steel or copper urn. Be sure to tie a red colored Mauli on the Kalash. Apart from this, keep rice below the Kalash. According to beliefs, this will bring happiness and prosperity in the house. Always keep the Kalash on the right side of the idol.

After placing the idol of Lord Ganesha, light a ghee lamp in front of it.

Take a resolution

After this, take Ganga water in your hand and take a pledge that for how many days you are bringing Bappa to your home. Well, you can keep Bappa in your house for one and a half, three, five, seven, nine or eight days.

Worship with folded hands

Then appeal to Bappa with folded hands. While meditating, keep yellow-colored flowers in your hands and pray to Bappa for happiness and peace. After this offer flowers at the feet of Lord Ganesha.

Offer modak

You can offer Modak to Bappa. According to beliefs, Modak is very dear to Lord Ganesha. Apart from this, if you want, you can also offer Laddus to Lord Ganesha.
