People give a new look to their homes by getting the walls painted, but they ignore Vastu while getting the paint painted. Vastu and colors are closely related. Every color has its own importance in Vastu, so the rules of Vastu must be followed while painting the house. If you also believe in Vastu and want to maintain happiness and peace in the house, then know the importance of colors before getting painted.

Yellow color

Yellow color has special significance in Indian culture. Yellow color gives peace to the mind and also brings happiness and prosperity in the house. According to Vastu, the master bedroom of the house should be of yellow colour.

Green colour

Green color is a symbol of greenery and happiness and prosperity. At the same time, the northern part of the house is a symbol of economic prosperity, so it is considered auspicious to have green paint on the wall of this corner.

Do not paint windows and doors in dark colors

Apart from the walls of the house, doors and windows should always be painted in a light colour. According to Vastu Shastra, dark colors like red, gray and black should not be applied on them. These colors reduce the energy of the house.

Choice of colors according to the direction of the house  

• Light Blue for North-East direction.
• White or light blue for East.
• South-east direction is related to fire, so orange, pink or silver colors should be used on the walls of this direction.
• Green color is suitable for north direction.

The north-west direction is related to the wind, so the use of white, light brown and cream colors is considered auspicious for this direction. 

• Red and Yellow for South direction.
• West direction is towards water, so blue and white colors are best for this direction.

Choose colors according to the room 

• South-west direction is considered auspicious for the master bedroom, so get yellow color on the wall made on this side.
• Guest room or drawing room should be in North-West direction. There should be white color on the walls of this room.
• Children’s room North-west is the best direction. The room located in this direction should be painted white.
• The color of the walls of the kitchen should be orange or red.
• North-West is the right direction for the bathroom. It should have white color on its walls.
