There are many places to visit in Delhi, but the Akshardham temple has its own significance. Popularly known as Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple, this place is actually one of the largest temples in India. This temple will stand for 1000 years

The entire complex of Akshardham Temple is of 83,342 square fit area. The architecture of this temple is designed in such a way that it can last 1000 years or more. It is a unique piece of architecture in itself.

More than 20,000 sculptures-

Delhi’s famous tourist spot Akshardham Temple has more than 200 stone sculptures depicting the forms of Indian gurus, sadhus, acharyas and deities. It has 234 gem-studded pillars and 9 gem-studded domes. If the sculptures of this entire complex are mixed, it has more than 20,000 different sculptures made of different metals, stone.

Narayan Sarovar made of water of 151 ponds-

Around the Akshardham temple is the Narayan Sarovar, in which the water of the famous 151 ponds of India is brought and mixed. With this, the heads of 108 cows are built around this pond which represents the 108 gods of Hinduism. At the same time, the 3000 feet long circumambulation path is made of red stones brought from Rajasthan.

Lotus Garden-

A beautiful garden has also been built in Akshardham Temple Complex which is lotus shaped. Hence it is called Lotus Garden. If you look at it from above, it will feel like a big lotus is feeding. The stones of this garden are not only the words of Swami Vivekananda and Hindu Gurus but also quotes from people like Shakespeare and Martin Luther.

Importance of 10 doors-

Another special thing that is in this temple is that the 10 doors here are built on the basis of the 10 directions of Vedic literature. These show that goodness can come from either side.

The world’s largest sacrificial fire

Akshardham Temple has a Yajnapurusha Kund which is the largest Yagna Kund in the world. After climbing 108 small temples and 2870 steps, this Yagna Kund is reached. On 17 December 2007, the Guinness Book of World Records declared this temple to be the largest Hindu temple.

The theater is inside the temple 

There is also a theater inside the Akshardham temple. No, this is not the theater you are thinking about. Rather, information about Swaminarayan Bhagwan is given in this theater. Along with this, there are 11 fit tall statues of Lakshmi-Narayana and Shiva-Parvati, Radha-Krishna, Sita-Rama.

More than 1 lakh people come every week-

More than one lakh people visit this temple every week. There is also a musical fountain which has an attractive light and sound show. This is done every evening. Life cycle is shown in this show.
