IGNOU Has Started the Admission procedure for Free UPSC Coaching

The Indira Gandhi National Open University has recently started accepting applications for free UPSC coaching for the students of Scheduled Caste categories. This coaching will be free of cost and offered through the Dr. Ambedkar Centre for Excellence. The center was completely approved by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. The eligibility for taking the admission to the coaching classes for UPSC is a bachelor’s degree from a recognized and UGC-approved varsity. The women candidates are provided 33% relaxation in seats. A total of hundred students were selected through a national level entrance examination conducted by IGNOU with NTA (National Testing Agency.) With these free-of-cost coaching facilities, candidates of scheduled caste categories are empowered to make their dreams come true irrespective of their financial and social conditions. For a long time, this category was demanding for such coaching that helps and encourages students to grow. It’s a good move for this largest university. Last Date to Apply

The final date to apply for the IGNOU free UPSC coaching is June 30th, 2022.  The starting date of registration for these coaching classes was started on June 5th, 2022. Interested candidates can submit their application forms the earliest to avoid the last-minute rush. Candidates need to register themselves using the New Registration link that is provided on the website.

Empowering SC Candidates

The move of implementing DACE for the free coaching classes for SC students will help the candidates coming from the SC categories to enhance their knowledge and skills to become high-rank officers through the Union Public Service Commission examinations. The university has completely dedicated and skilled professionals that will provide relevant and necessary training and coaching to the students of SC categories. Also, women candidates are also given relaxations of 33% of the total number of seats. There are about 100 students who will be registered for the 2023 UPSC examinations and students are selected based on the All India; Entrance examination that will be conducted by the Indira Gandhi National Open University. 

Eligibility Criteria for Participating in the Registration Procedure

  • Candidates must have passed the bachelor’s degree examination in any discipline from a recognized university. Or in the final year of bachelor’s degree examinations. 

Note: Candidates who are in their final year of bachelor’s degree examinations are required to submit the passing certificate before the commencement of the coaching classes by DACE. 

  • Students haven’t participated in any such coaching classes or Government schemes for free coaching before IGNOU. 
  • Students must have passed class 12th with a 10+2  mode of schooling or BPP from IGNOU. 
  • Women candidates who are taking participation in the free coaching classes need to submit the age and caste certificate for 33% and SC relaxations. All the candidates are required to submit the SC certificate for the registration procedure because this coaching is only available for SC candidates. 
  • Students are requested to visit the official website of IGNOU to check the detailed instructions related to the coaching classes for SC candidates. 

Entrance examination Pattern 

The pattern of examination for admission procedure will consist of various topics and subjects. So, candidates are requested to prepare themselves in advance. A national level entrance test will be conducted and they need to appear the same with complete preparation. A total of 100 candidates will be selected for free coaching facilities. The examination pattern will be as follows:

The examination carries 100 objective-type questions. 

The topics will be asked are reasoning abilities, language skills general aptitude, and General Knowledge. 

The selection will be purely done based on the merit list generated by DACE, IGNOU after the successful conduct of entrance examinations. 

Aims of DACE

The Dr. Ambedkar Centre for Excellence holds some objectives to cover:

  • It aims to empower scheduled caste students in all the regions of the country. 
  • The varsity is dedicated to providing quality education to the students free of cost. 
  • Candidates will also provide interview skills and other training programs at the end of the coaching classes. 
  • Candidates of the SC category are empowered to increase their learning and thinking abilities to clear interviews and other levels of UPSC examinations. 
  • The coaching will be provided for both Tier 1 and Tier 2 examinations. 

Registration Guidelines for DACE Free Coaching SC Students

Candidates are required to fill all the three parts of the registration procedure as the whole process consists of three main processes. It includes:

  • Filling necessary personal information
  • Providing experience and qualification details
  • Preview and final submission
  • Students are requested to be ready with all the required documents while filling out the registration form. You have to upload your Aadhaar card and Caste certificate in PDF format while your signature, passport size photography, and qualification certificate are in JPG format. 
  • All the blank boxes in part 1 are mandatory. 
  • The minimum required qualification is UG or bachelor’s degree. You have to upload three certifications be it class 10th, 12th, or graduation certificate. 
  • You have to complete the registration procedure in one go. You don’t need to break or pause your registration in the middle. 
  • Before going to the final part of the registration, it is required to add experience and qualification in the 2nd part.
