What Are the Different Types of Liposuctions?

Modern medical science has discovered a total of six types of liposuction procedure. They have different purpose and significance. Let’s discuss them in brief.

Laser liposuction

Laser-assisted liposuction or LAL is an innovative liposuction technique generally performed using local anaesthesia.

. Here surgeon uses heat energy from the laser to coagulate blood vessels, melt excess fats, and provide toned skin. LAL is a minimally invasive procedure with a speedy recovery.

Laser liposuction is safe and successfully removes bruising of the skin, and promotes the body’s skin tightening mechanism. It encourages collagen production underneath the skin, which tighten up the skin and provide a better appearance.

Laser-assisted liposuction is a susceptible procedure because it demands a sixth sigma level f precision and accuracy. The only accredited surgeon can perform this surgery as there are risks of complications if it is done in the wrong way. The laser energy may harm surrounded tissue. Precise laser liposuction prevents the sagging of skin and provides highly contoured skin.

There are two types of laser liposuction; external and internal laser liposuction for the outer part of the body surgeon use outer laser liposuction, and for internal use, inner laser liposuction.

Tumescent liposuction

Tumescent liposuction is commonly used to remove the most unwanted fats. Here the liposuction surgeon injects a sterile solution into the affected area. The clean solution is a mixture of saltwater that removes fats, an anaesthetic like lidocaine to numb the affected area, and epinephrine to shrink the blood vessel. When this sterile solution injected into a particular area, it gets thicken and swollen.

Next, the surgeon creates minimal incision into the affected area’s skin and inserts a cannula tube. This cannula tube attaches with a vacuum that sucks the unwanted fats and sterile fluid from the affected area. Tumescent liposuction is also carried out under local anaesthesia, and it is outpatient setting surgery.

This type of liposuction takes a little longer time than other liposuction techniques.

Lipolysis

Lipolysis is the type of liposuction technique carried out with drugs that break down the fat.  It is also known as the Lipodissolve technique, where deposited fat tissues are dissolved when the chemical mixture of medicines, mineral, enzyme, and vitamins is injected. Here surgeon injects a minimal amount of drug per injection, and the treatment takes place in multiple session.

Lipolysis is the best body contouring procedure to eliminate localized fat deposits, including wiggy thighs, love handles, and double chin. These types of excess fats can’t be removed by exercise and dieting.

Vaser liposuction

Vaser is a third-generation liposuction surgery machine. The Vaser liposuction procedure is now well accepted by medical science and rapidly gaining popularity due to its accuracy and benefits. This liposuction procedure assisted with ultra-sound, which breaks down the fat tissues with the ultrasound waves around the muscle, including legs, flanks, abdomen, and hips. It is an excellent technique to remove extra fat from a delicate part of your body like the breast, neck and face.  Vaser assists the surgeon in finding out the specific muscle layers to generate a contoured appearance. It also protects your muscle from overexposure to ultrasound waves, and it has minimum side effects.

Power-assisted liposuction

Power-assisted liposuction (PAL) is the contouring technique to remove excess fat from the body. Here surgeon uses a cannula with an oscillating tip. He inserts the cannula at the target region. The oscillating vibration helps the surgeon to pull out extra fats with high-level accuracy. This process is the less painful and minimal amount of swelling.

Super wet technique

It is a traditional method of liposuction, more or less similar to tumescent liposuction. Here surgeon takes saline solution containing adrenalin and anaesthesia in the injection. The saline solution is injected into the targeted area.

Next, the surgeon creates a small incision into the affected area’s skin and inserts a cannula tube to remove all excess fats and sterile solution.

In the super-wet technique, the amount of saline solution will be equal to the amount of fat that needs to be removed. The procedure requires general anaesthesia before being performed.

The primary intention of liposuction is to provide you with a desirable body contour. It is a different procedure from tummy tuck surgery. Here we mentioned another type of liposuction procedure meant to remove excess fats from the body. Generally, resistant fats are not removable through exercise. So, you can opt for a liposuction body contouring technique to eliminate resistant fat. For more details, you can consult with the eminent surgeon of liposuction in Dubai.
